Positive vs negative

The War

This page is not about a physical war with tanks and planes but instead it is about the war being waged in your subconscious between Positive and Negative thought processes. In order to have the job that you want, make the money that you want to make, or be in a leadership position within your workplace, you must win this war.

The war between the positive and negative is a constant battle that will always be with you. Winning this war means overcoming the negative thoughts in your everyday life on a consistent basis. Once you train yourself to focus on the positive all of the time, it will be only a rare occasion that will find you in a tough battle with the negative.

People who are always negative are just the opposite. They have lost the war for the most part. That does not mean that eventually they cannot turn things around but the negative drains their energy and life and makes them not even try to be positive any longer. They focus mostly on the negative in life and that leads to depression, illnesses, anger, hatred, and bitterness.

As a person just beginning to learn the value of being positive, it is at the utmost importance to come up with a goal. You should start by making a mid range or long term goal, then come up with short goals, or steps that will lead you there. Then after making the list of short goals, start with the first one. Make it an easier one. They say that the only way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time. The end goal may seem too large to be attainable but if you work on it in small bites or steps, you will get there eventually. Be positive through your first goal and afterwards reward yourself, congratulate yourself, and even start a journal that notes this achievement. Then start the second task towards another goal. Whatever you do, do not ever give up hope that you will reach the ultimate goal. Hope is a powerful force that will move you forward.

Being idle, giving up, being negative, and whining are the easy things to do. Ignore chronic complainers because you will never change them, they will only bring you down. Don’t engage in drama or gossip. Don’t exhaust yourself with a poor attitude. Meet negative comments with positive facts. If being successful were easy then everyone would do it. What you have to do is keep focused on the prize ahead. Care about people and they will help you. Listen to others that are trying to help you and take some of their advice. Be positive and others around you will begin to model you positive attitude. Continue to communicate positives and keep communicating positives. Smile, be happy, and be proud of what you are doing. Admit your own faults. The question is not whether you are perfect or not but where is your heart? Are you doing the right things to achieve what you want? Keep a good attitude and keep trying to be positive and reaching your goals. You will be successful, one bite at a time.
